Robyn Provencal

My name is Robyn and I am a Personal Trainer in Barrie Ontario and helping others with the medicine of exercise is my passion.

I have a background that stems from playing rugby & soccer and growing up in a fitness environment, which is where I first began working out in a gym at the age of 14. Rugby for about 12 years and soccer for 7, with a bit of basketball mixed in a few years too. These sports and playing for a team taught me the discipline to get up and get to it every day, as well as how to motivate others and help encourage them. This has also led me to compete in a few powerlifting meets and really push my body to its limits. As much as I love training for a sport or event, now I am focused on growing my business and being my healthiest self. I still love weight training but throughout the lockdowns I really fell for teaching fitness classes. I started doing that for the past few years on top of my personal training and it then led me down a yoga path, and I am also now a certified Yoga Teacher! :).

Working out and learning about weight training kept me out of difficult times in life. I use the gym and lifting weights as therapy and to keep myself grounded. Now I want to help others who are looking to change their quality of living and improve their lifestyles.

Working as a Personal Trainer for 8 years and studying Fitness & Health Promotion at Georgian College has allowed me to build a knowledge base that can work with varieties of clientele including weight loss, muscle gain, and rehabilitation. Working out myself (specifically with weights) for 15 years has also helped me gain a vast amount of experience with the technique of various exercises and figuring out specific movements for specific needs.

After completing the 2-year program I started working at Goodlife and realized how much I enjoyed training others. I love working with different goals, different bodies' needs and creating individualized plans. Throughout these 8 years, I have also worked in a clinic for a year. I have experience with injuries and how to accommodate them when getting back into the gym, this has allowed me to broaden my experience with this area of training and learn creative new techniques. Since then this is where I have began to specialize and train with the most, however still having a few clients focused on functional training. I like seeing and helping people get strong and push themselves.. it’s one of the most rewarding things about being a trainer in my opinion.

Seeing results from training encouraged me to incorporate it into my lifestyle and make a career helping others do the same!

I hope you enjoy my website and can find something that will help you.
